Investment Team

Kari has been a Portfolio Manager at UB Asset Management since 2015, where he manages timberland investments. Prior to this, he held senior positions at various organizations, starting in 2002, including Forestland Investment Finland Ltd, the European Forest Institute, Forestry Development Centre Tapio, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Pöyry, and Stora Enso. From 2002 to 2005, Kari also worked as a Forest Policy Advisor and Economist at the United Nations in New York and Geneva. He earned a Ph.D. in Forest Economics from the University of Joensuu in 2001. 

Teemu is a Portfolio Manager at UB Asset Management, responsible for managing timberland investments. He brings a wealth of expertise in forest asset procurement and governance, specializing in the forestland property market and analysis. Prior to joining United Bankers in 2025, Teemu spent 10 years as a Service Manager at Forestland Investment Finland Ltd. He holds both an M.Sc. in Agriculture and Forestry and an MA from the University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu.

Jaakko has been a Portfolio Manager within the UB Real Assets team since 2021, focusing on Nordic real estate investments. He originally joined the team in 2016 as an Analyst, supporting the investment process and development projects through research, financial modelling, and due diligence. Prior to UB, Jaakko worked as an Analyst at Citycon Oyj, a leading Nordic real estate owner, manager, and developer. He holds an M.Sc. in Real Estate Management from Aalto University.

Perttu has been a Portfolio Manager with the UB Real Assets team since 2018, bringing extensive experience in real estate investment and portfolio management dating back to 2002. He began his career at the OP Bank Group Pension Fund in 2000 before joining Finnish real estate firm Sponda in 2005, where he held several positions over the years, including Director of Real Estate Disposals and Acquisitions. Perttu holds an M.Sc. in Surveying from Helsinki University of Technology.

Morten has been a Senior Advisor to the UB Nordic property fund since 2018. Morten has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate field. He has held senior roles in Dialog Finans AS as well as Dialog Finansrådgivning AS between 1995 and 2011. Between 2011 and 2018, Morten was Head of Real Estate at Oslo-based investment banking firm Pioner Kapital AS. Morten studied Banking, Corporate Finance and Securities Law at BI Norwegian Business School.

Lauri is part of the real estate team at UB Real Assets, which he joined in 2020 as an Analyst. He previously worked at Catella Group, a Stockholm-based pan-European specialist in property investment and fund management, where he served as an Asset Manager in the Helsinki office from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, he was a Project Manager at TA-Yhtiöt, a Helsinki-based residential property owner and developer, from 2017 to 2018. Lauri holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate Economics from Aalto University.

Pekka has been leading the development and management of UB Asset Management’s Global Infrastructure funds since their launch in 2006. He brings over 25 years of experience in asset management and the broader financial industry. Prior to joining UB Asset Management, he worked as a buy-side analyst and managed various equity portfolios and mutual funds. Pekka holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Helsinki School of Economics.

Tuomas is a Portfolio Manager in the Real Assets team at UB Asset Management, focusing on systematic listed real estate investment strategies. He joined the firm in 2013 as an Analyst and has been active in the asset management industry since 2002. Prior to UB, he held roles in asset allocation, portfolio modelling, manager research, and equity portfolio management at the asset management divisions of Aktia and Kaupthing. Tuomas holds an M.Sc. in Finance from the Helsinki School of Economics.

Tomi is currently a Portfolio Manager for REIT Funds at UB Asset Management, a position he has held since 2018. He joined the firm in 2012 from Aventum Fund Management, where he was responsible for fund NAV calculations, portfolio analysis, and reporting. From 2012 to 2017, he worked as a Portfolio Analyst in the Real Assets team, focusing on listed infrastructure and listed real estate strategies. Tomi holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

Timo is the CEO of UB Fund Management Company Ltd. He is also a board member of several other UB Group entities. Timo joined UB in 2012 from Aventum Asset Management, where he had been Managing Director since 2008. Prior to that, he held senior roles at Nordea Investment Management from 1995 to 2008, as well as at Union Bank of Finland and Merita Bank starting in 1989. Timo holds an M.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Jyväskylä.

Nils has been the head of the Swedish Branch of UB Asset Management since 2015. Prior to this, he held a senior sales role within the Fund Linked Derivatives team at Nordea Markets from 2006. He also held senior positions at Handelsbanken Capital Markets from 2000 to 2006, specializing in structured products and derivatives. Earlier in his career, Nils worked in systems development at Scotia Capital Markets in Canada and as an options broker at Alfred Berg. Nils holds an M.Sc. in Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology and an M.Sc. in Economics from Hanken School of Economics.

Dick is the Head of International Distribution at UB Fund Management Company. Before rejoining UB in 2022, he worked at Mandatum Life from 2019 to 2021, advising wealth management clients with a particular focus on alternative investments. Prior to that, Dick spent nearly 10 years at UB Securities, where he held roles as Sales Trader and Head of Equities. He holds an M.Sc. in Finance from Hanken Svenska Handelshögskolan.
